SYNOPSIS OF TIME SHARE.

balboa

Ferry to Balboa Island as seen in Time Share aka Bitter Suite.

BITTER SUITE aka TIME SHARE is a comedy about love and war between two very different single-parent families who accidentally rent the same summer vacation house. Somewhere buried in Gwen, an uptight, divorced German scientist, is a spark of joyful spontaneity, but Russell, her dull fiancée and colleague, is not the man to find it. Still, they're both passionate about their work (genetically engineering fruit and vegetables), and Gwen is convinced that her two sons - Brian, an awkward, raging hormone at 15, and introverted Wesley, 10 - will learn to love Russell during their upcoming vacation. But when a crisis in the lab delays Russell, Gwen's gang leaves Germany for Nantucket without him. Matt, a charismatic dynamo and renowned American chef, is the well-meaning, but near-negligent divorced father of an intense, quirky Daphne, 14, and two wild, mischievous sons, Lewis, 11, and Josh, 8. Matt rarely sees his kids, but he always treats them to a knockabout trip every summer, though they'd rather he just settle down and get to know them better. Arriving in Nantucket, Gwen and Matt are appalled to discover that they've rented the same house, and since every alternative is booked, there's no choice but to share the space. But how will Gwen, an overprotective mom who plans her life as neatly as she packs her luggage, live under the same roof with brash permissive Matt? Will they teach each other to be the kind of parent their kids really need or kill each other first? And can their mismatched kids stop fighting long enough to remember that vacations are supposed to be fun? Gwen and Daphne soon become disgruntled allies when Brian finds a willing mentor in Matt. Lewis and Josh show Wesley how to wretch havoc on the island. And Matt and Gwen, rife with sexual tension, spar over their attitudes towards vacations, parenting and life. When a hurricane hits, the families are forced to huddle, and out of this storm comes a lively indoor block party, a truce between the kids, and the consummation of a romance that take both Matt and Gwen by surprise. But Russell's arrival ruins everything. However, during a freewheeling treasure hunt/race on the island, Gwen dumps Russell and becomes a reckless daredevil, helping Matt and all the kids win. Realizing how well they and their families complement each other, Gwen and Matt know that the end of their vacation is only the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Here is Lisa's Account of working on Time Share aka Bitter Suite.

Timothy

Timothy as Matt in Timeshare.

I worked on Time Share with Timothy Dalton back in January. I was running a fever, but could not resist the offer. It meant me getting my SAG card, which I was successful at. It was wonderful working in the movie, I was fortunate enough to be in my car directly behind Nastassja Kinski. Timothy was way behind in the line of cars trying to get on the ferry!! His "son" in the movie gets on top of the car and yells to his "DAD" that there taking forever to get on, so Timothy speeds up, and almost collides with Nastassja, and my car is directly behind them. It is a purple Saturn. I did this for 2 days, and loved it. Was fed very well, and everyone on the set was very nice!! The movie was set in a very nice area, and they did the reverse the next day. This is when she is dressed in a wedding dress, but i guess she must have not married the wrong guy. It was a very touching kissing scene between the two of them. Everyone was watching and was in awe. The sun was glowing. It was so beautiful, I really wish you all could have seen it!! Lisa

I would like to very much thank Lisa for sending this account to me for us all to share.

I would also like to thank Dennise for the picture of Timothy above in Timeshare.

TIME SHARE

I watched it last night----EXCELLENT! Why not released theatrically is a mystery to me. Funny, romantic, GREAT acting, esp. by Timothy Dalton. YES, he CAN do comedy, and very well. His character and portrayal were perfect---charming, funny, sexy, and even complex. An actor's dream, and so too a Timothy Dalton fan's dream! PLEASE RELEASE THIS FILM IN THE CINEMAS! There is so much crap out---this is a warm, funny, light romance that a mass audience would adore. I would certainly pay to see it in the theatres. Great work all around!

If you didn't see last night, tom'w park yourself in front of the Fox Family Channel. It is a treat, a breath of fresh air, a truly funny, warm, diverting comedy with relevance, wit, and subtle social commentary. DO NOT MISS TIME SHARE!

Yours in fandom,

Geoff

I loved Time Share. I laughed and literally screamed with delight. I have never seen Timothy Dalton in a comedy like this. The closest one was The Beautician & The Beast, but this was 10 times more funny. Mr. Dalton was so spontaneous, so American and so out of character and I loved it. From someone who played a brooding Heathcliff, a killer agent 007 Bond, a serious Shakesperian Anthony, to playing a loose, layed-back, creative, humorous, father/chef- it was unbelievable. For any die-hard Timothy Dalton fans, the sheer delight of seeing what I think is alot like his real personality - it will thrill your soul. I think I will watch it again tonight. I loved it so much, I plan on writing to him about it. He really is quite a good comedic actor. I hope you got to see it.
Marge.

Well, I finally feel as though we are out of the Tim desert! Time Share was wonderful! Tim was so playful and funny in it and it really let his comedy talents shine! I really think this will lead to more lighthearted family stuff for him and it will suit him well.
Ellen.

I think that Time Share is excellent!!! I laughed so much at times, Timothy is just so good in a comedy role. This project is so captivating and charming and it has such warmth that it makes you feel good each time you watch it, Time Share is also very well written. There are so many great scenes in this film, that I could go on and on talking about it, but that would also spoil it for those who have not seen it, so I give this movie 10 out of 10 and would like to congratulate all the cast but Timothy in particular for playing the part of Matt so well.
Jayne.

I would sincerely like to thank Geoff, Marge, Ellen, and Jayne for their reviews.
